How to create Chinese New Year Scrolls?

春联 (chūnlián) or Chinese New Year scrolls are a special thing that Chinese people often put up in their houses during Spring Festival period. They are normally done on red paper and hand painted. They often contain good luck messages or blessings for the new year. They are a symbol of hope for the upcoming year.

With this resource, you will be able to create your own Chinese New Year scrolls! There are three scrolls, one vertically on the left, one horizontally in the middle and one vertically on the right.

You can use the default text however we've made it easy to enter your own messages in each of the three banners. You can even decide if you want the middle banner to read left to right or right to left and then generate.

Once you've created your banners you can save them as one image or three separate images. You can then share them to Facebook, Twitter and other social media or you can print them out to hang up yourself. The images are all ready to go and different sizes. Just choose the size you need and download the PDF. The largest image can print out on one banner per A4 sheet.
